2005 Camry SE, Missing Manifold heat Sheild?AndyM1978 02-22-2005, 03:15 PM Hi everyone. I just traded in my aging 92 Camry and bought myself a 2005 Camry SE (4-cyl). I was showing the engine to a coworker of mine a few minutes ago and noticed that there was no heat shield over the exhaust manifold. I see some mounting brackets that look like they would hold a heat shield. Can anyone verify whether there should be a heat shield there or not? Thanks! PS. This car is absolutely amazing. Toyota definately did some good research between 1992 and now. :) don24mac 02-22-2005, 05:35 PM I was at the dealer for some parts for my 2000 a few days ago and went out and looked at the 2005 Camry LE on the showroom floor. I was noticing how different the exhaust manifold was on these 4 cyl. cars compared to the older ones. And, nope, there wasn't any heat shield over it. You could see the whole thing. Bossman 02-24-2005, 04:46 AM No heat shield on my '03 either. AndyM1978 02-28-2005, 01:12 PM I asked the dealership about this and they confirmed what you all said in your replies. Toyota stopped putting the top heat shield on the manifold on new Camrys. The dealer showed me a bunch of other new Camrys in the shop and they all lacked the shield. I was told it was a manifold redesign. Thanks for the info. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
