I found a '00 S40 1.9T with 32K miles on it. It has leather, moonroof, wood trim, power everything traction etc. It is listed for $10,850.00. Is this a good price? What do I need to look out for on the S40? Pros? Cons?

Thanks for the advice

Tagging along on this one.

Looking at a 2000 or 2001 for my wife. Really want to avoid silly engine issues. Do the S40 engines have any reliability? My mom drives Volvo's but she takes hers in for regular service. I have no experience with them. Any issues with engine or suspension problems? Any known electrical or transmission issues?

I purchased a 2001 for my wife when it had 15000 miles. I am happy with this car, it drives great and runs great. Two things I don,t like are the brakes, it went thru pads pretty quick and the rotors appear soft, I'll be replacing them next time I change the pads. I also don't like the fact that the service light stays on for a minute or two after the car is started after I do maintenance(change oil or replaced the battery).last tankfull I got 28 mpg. with combined city and highway,I replaced the air filter with a K&N I think this helped, I can feel the difference.I luv the car , it has 45000 now and (knock on wood) no real issues. I would recommend this car to a friend. and I think that says it all.
