This may sound stupid, but have you tried another fuse that can handle more amps? I'm not too familiar with the amp for the reverse lights.. but say it takes a 20 amp fuse, have you tried a 25 or 30 amp instead? I don't know, just an idea. Good luck though.

If I put a larger fuse in than what it is supposed to have it would create more problems. The fuse is there in order to prevent to much current from being pulled through the wires. Therefore a larger fuse would allow more current than the wires can handle and could cause them to melt. But thanks for the idea.

Bad bulb probably change the bulbs for the reverse lights and check the wiring if that doesnt help

I checked the bulbs which were fine and can't find a short anywhere.

check your reverse light switch on your shifter to make sure it hasn't gone bad. other than that you have to have a dead short or ground dead in the circuit. if your switch is good then use a multimeter to check the ohms on the wires. to check your switch just use a jumper across the terminals to see if it will blow a fuse the the switch out. good luck

The switch was shorted. Thanks for the advice and ideas to diagnose the problem.
