Honda to Nissan Wheel Swap?

Hello - I have an '85 Honda Accord that has good tires on it and I also have an '89 Nissan Sentra that needs tires. The Honda has a blown head gasket and hasn't been used in several months. I'd like to swap out the wheels/tires from the Honda to the Nissan. It looks like they'd fit - when I removed one wheel from the Honda and then tossed on the spare from the Nissan it looked like it fit just right.

Assuming there won't be a tire size clearance issue, can I swap out the wheels/tires from the Honda to the Nissan without having to change rims?

Thanks,

WT

Yes you can, they are both 4x100.

Okay - this is not good - just took the Nissan out for a test drive and there was too much noise from the wheels - especially in the front. When I applied the brakes, the noise went away. Wheels too loose?

I suspected this swap was sort of wrong because when I put the Honda rims on the Nissan & tightened down the lug nuts, the nuts didn't seem to tighten up all the way - especially in the back, the lug nuts didn't seat all the way onto the lugs - maybe about 1/16 or 1/8 inch gap from having the nut unthreaded - does this make sense?

I'll rip 'em off and toss on the old ones.

What a complete waste of time and my afternoon.

I called Walmart & they wanna charge me $44 to change rims.

I don't have $44.

At least I tried.

umm - you need lug nuts that don't have a limit to how far down you can screw them on. In other words - they are like regular nuts instead of caps. you are maxing out the original lugnut because the rim may be thinner.
