I was just going to ask what people think of these cars? I am looking at a 96 Buick Centry with 108000 miles (seems like alot!) But it looks good, any big problems with these cars? Thanks guys!!

go fer it, it's still an "a-body" car but that ain't any miles for any vehicle these days. I once owned an S10 truck with 300,xxx miles on it and the ONLY reason I quit driving it is because a deer hit it, but the engine and tranny live on in my S10 blazer!

Drive it, listen to it, look for leaks, use common sense. Check the electric windows. If you get it, do your maintenance. Transmission filter, gas filter, PCV valve etc.

Use this link to see what it's worth.....

hey man id think its a great idea... cuz my 96 buick century has 209,904 miles on it right now and its my daily driver, and ive even messed around with it like havin fun just revvin it high makin burnouts etc lol, and it still to this day has not burned a DROP of oil, i dont even need to check my oil except i do every time right before i change the oil, which unfortunately usually ends up around 4000 or 4500 miles instead of every 3000 like i aim for, but still always stays at the full mark, never have added any oil for any reason... as in no leaking oil, no burning oil, nothin. if the body is in good shape, and it sounds and runs decent, and youve already checked over the other stuff that the other guys on here have recommended that you look into, then id say jump on it! lol. hope it works out 4 ya

i bought a 96 century 2 yrs ago. i thought the same thing looks great ,body looked good, sounded good, even know people who new the person that owned it and said it was well maintianed.
it has to be the worst car i have ever owned.so for i have replaced the transmission, ball joint ,brakes and brake lines, water pump, axil and sounds like i might need another one.
to top it off a week ago i noticed the heater blown hot and cold air on and off.i checked the fluid in the rad it was down so i topped it off . the next day it was down again.topped it off again, the following day the same thing so i topped it off and let it run to chek for leaks.wish i had found some.
checked my dip stick ,it was thick, milky and full to the top.now it looks like i need an engine .it still sounds alright ,i've had it parked since.having trouble locating an engine for it.
plus before this happened it was idling up and down and the lights would go dim and bright at the same time.not all the time ,once in a while.so all i can say is good luck.if you haven't bought it yet walk away.
