i am far from car-friendly so ill try to explain this as best as i can. My 93 camry has an oil leak. It is coming from the front right side of the engine if you stand in front of the hood. I was told its a sensor but i dont know anything about it. Its not a bad leak, its a drop every few minutes. nothing big. My engine looks like someone took some sealant of some kind and took it along the the engine i think where it is sealed. does anyone know what im talking about? im sorry that i cant explain it any better. if you stand in front of the hood its on the front of the engine block to the right. how do i fix that or am i gonna have to shell out some dough to have someone fix it?

The right side of the engine could be the rear oil seal OR the valve cover. The distributor o-ring usually runs down the middle of engine.

I would tighten the valve cover and use some Bar's stop leak for engine oil. Rear oil seal replacement is a big job.

Are you talking about the oil pressure sensor? That one has a wire connected to it and it's like round. If that's the one you are talking about, take it off and apply some sealant and screw it back on. that should seal it.

I think so, it looks like it clips on and has some wires in it. it is round and it connects to the right side of the engine. I took some pictures so if anyone wants to see exactly what i mean please let me know but i think the oil pressure sensor sounds right.

Im gonna give that a try and hopefully thats all ill need to do.

I've got a '97 4-banger with a similar problem.
I checked the valve cover but I think it's from what I *think* is the oil pressure sensor. The leak definitely is from the area around the timing belt housing, & since I've ruled out the valve cover, I don't think there's anything else in that area to leak from.
Does the sensor plug in near the timing belt housing on the '97? Or is that something else I'm looking at?
