B&M ShiftPlus Electronic Shift ImproverDirtsled 02-20-2005, 11:44 PM Anyone use this or heard anything on it? I don't really want to open up the tranny on my '99 Burb until necessary to do some beefing up in there, and this sounds like the Tow/Haul mode on my new body style pickup which is all I need for towing the boat until then. Thanks. Dirtsled 02-22-2005, 10:59 PM test test is this thing on? Merlin - think there would be any reason not to try this in the long run? phat97yukon 02-23-2005, 06:14 PM if your talkin bout the electirc switch one... A buddy of mine put it on his 98 seirra, and its made a big diffrence he loves it. and it was such a cheap mod and was really easy to put in, spliced a couple of wires. payed 35 bucks CAN, for it.. in the next couple weeks i will be puttin one in my 97 yukon... i will keep ya up to date when i do mine and what i think of it.. consumer22 02-24-2005, 11:51 AM I had one on my 98 suburban. I really likes it but I started getting service engine lights. The code was a tranny code that wouldn't go away until I disconnected the shift improver. The light hasn't come back on since. Dirtsled 02-24-2005, 01:32 PM Thanks for the replies, consumer22 - That is exactly what is making me hesitant. I want the ability to let the tranny wind out a little more when towing the boat, but I don't want to create more harm than good. I wonder why this product would start throwing a tranny code but the power programmers don't. (Do they?) They both should just be raising the shift points right? consumer22 02-24-2005, 02:20 PM It didn't start with the codes instantly. I had it for a while and then got the code after I was done towing. After I disconnected the trailer and drove for a while. I cleared it with my code reader but it came back in 200 miles. The unit could have just gone bad or something but I just took it iff and threw it away. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
