Hemi Hydro FinishedScale-Master 02-20-2005, 01:56 PM The hull and trailer is the old Revell Hemi Hydro (re-released a few years back). The engine is from the R/M Blue Max Mustang F/C, (also re-released a few years back), with a pair of Holleys from the R/M '69 Z/28. The flamage was the reason I chose to built this, I've been experimenting with some new flame styles... Wanted something simple to showcase them. The decals are Scale-Master, of course.... Also added a cooling system, wiring, throttle linkage & plumbing, made a set of gauges and the air scoop and some other stuff. The Cragars and Firestones are from the parts box, old AMT I think, Cragars maybe from the Meyers Manx. Still a few details on the trailer that will wait until a tow vehicle is ready for it... - Mark http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v92/Scale-Master/Scale-Master%20Models/DSC00058.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v92/Scale-Master/Scale-Master%20Models/DSC00073.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v92/Scale-Master/Scale-Master%20Models/DSC00070.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v92/Scale-Master/Scale-Master%20Models/DSC00052.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v92/Scale-Master/Scale-Master%20Models/DSC00064H.jpg DukeMan 02-20-2005, 02:36 PM That looks like a pretty brutal boat, I want a real one! Nice work on the engine and decals. GTmike400 02-20-2005, 02:49 PM Awesome job! I love it! sportracer02 02-20-2005, 03:44 PM Hi, great model !!!! Engine detail, deep colour, flames - perfekt. Jurva 02-20-2005, 04:03 PM Are those flames painted. This is way cool! Maybe I start my own. willimo 02-20-2005, 05:15 PM That thing is mad cool! I love it. But with all the talk of the flames, you should tip it up on edge so we can see them better. Looks beautiful, though, completely beautiful. PRIVATEER 02-20-2005, 07:55 PM Wow!!!!! That's friggen cool!!!!! I love the Hemi . GT-Alex 02-21-2005, 08:35 AM Did you handpaint those flames or did you use several masks to airbrush them ? Engine is cool too. Scale-Master 02-21-2005, 12:10 PM Thanks all. The flames are decals I created. I did some freehand airbrushing of transparent colors after they were applied to enhance some of the tones too. Weather out here has been nasty so a good side photo will have to wait, it really needs the sun to show up well... - Mark Wheelin75r 02-21-2005, 05:04 PM Awesome job on something completely different!! And get that tow vehicle started immediatly, I can't wait! Topjob! :bigthumb: JTRACING 02-21-2005, 05:25 PM That is Beautiful!! Cobra Colors 02-21-2005, 05:59 PM Beautiful work! The paint, engine, graphics.....it's all good! MidMazar 02-21-2005, 11:02 PM beautiful display of work, you need to find something to pull that boat now! Scale-Master 02-22-2005, 11:11 AM I'm thinking a two-tone blue and white mid '60s Chevy Pick Up with a straight six and a set of Webers. But that's much later, the boat was just an exercise for the flames... - Mark proosen 02-22-2005, 01:03 PM Beautiful hydro! We have/had a hydro freak here in Sweden some years ago. One of his favorite tricks when he had a new passenger with him was to give part throttle and then pull it back again. When the boat sat down again he gave full throttle on the bounce resulting in a "wheelie" (pardon the expression) and took of with the nose high in the air. I now I crap my pants if somebody did that to me without further notice and yes, I want one to. Sorry for the OT text, but it's a fun story and I wanted to share it with you. Cheers! Niclas nis.k.a. 02-22-2005, 01:10 PM Awesome job! Scale-Master 02-22-2005, 04:22 PM If it were real I wouldn't even go for a ride in it, way too nasty, if it were a car that'd be a different story, no fear of drowning on terra firma... - Mark stump 02-23-2005, 10:47 PM Oh yeah...........Now, that just ROCKS Mark........ Great build of an old kit. I've only ever seen a couple of these made, they run a poor second, a looooonnnnng way behind ya...... Motor looks wicked, as do the flames. I'd step up to the plate for a ride,.........if I was a tad smaller...lol... cheers stump WeaPoN [X] 02-24-2005, 01:04 AM It must sound like war in that boat. HEMI Sweetness! JeFF freakmech 02-24-2005, 01:06 AM Thats awesome and inspiring, thanks! :icon16: GvEman 02-24-2005, 11:31 AM Awesome boat! It's going to look mighty nasty behind a nice tow car to!
