Hi to all,
When I turn the headlights on, they come on fine, but all panel lamps dim - the radio backlight turns off all together. Both computer readouts (main information module and overhead trip computer), speedo console and gear stick illuminators all stay off.

Are all the circuits wired in series, or is this going to be quite easy to narrow down to one module?

Thanks, in advance.

Am I being daft or is there a relay for the dash lights that would control all screens that I'm missing - I can't believe that there's a dimmer circuit running half the length of the car wired in series to all these bulbs.

Try turning headlights on and turn switch know to the left, there is a dimmer switch built into the switch. Dale

the "dimmer" is a side-to-side switch to the left of the headlight knob. the farther you move it to the left, the brighter the dash and readout lights are, move it all the way to the left, it will turn on the cabin lights. you may just have it set to the farthest right position. hope that cleared it up.

Thanks - in mine this is an up and down switch - moving it all the way to the top turns the cabin lights on, and moving it up and down while the headlights are turned on dims the leds readout on the consoles - its my backlighting that doesn't appear to be coming on at all.

I have a similar problem wit my 1993 GC Limited. I had my truck worked on last night and after we fiinished (adjusting fog lights, headlights, and driver side window) my dash lights just won't work. Before that my battery had run down and the built-in security system went off. During that the dash lights flash on and off in sync with the headlights and taillights. I've slid the switch from left to right - the interior lights will come on (on the overhead console), but not the dash lights or the ones around my gear levers. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

Thanks,
It may be nothing but a coincidence, but I had my immobiliser worked on at the same time that my dash started to go wrong and my passenger door lock solenoid is broken - as a result the turn lights don't flash any more. I'm hoping that when I put a good solenoid in place this will resolve the turn lights issue.

Any auto electricians out there able to say if these two circuits are linked closely enough for this to be more than a coincidence?
