Vibration

I have a 2004 2500HD 6.0 4.10. I get a vibration starting at 70MPH, peaking at 75 and going away at 80. It feels like its in the drivetrain. When it is vibrating, if I back off the accelerator, the vibration stops.
Had it to the dealer twice already. They cannot find the problem. It has only 6000 miles on it.
Any one have a similiar problem? Driving me crazy.

I have a 1999 Sierra (55K) with the same 45mph vibration. I've been all through the tranny, replaced u-joints, balanced driveshaft, tore apart rearend with no luck on finding the vibration. Finally led me to the front wheel hub assemblies. These have been a problem for our years of trucks, as they are sealed and commonly wear out. To check: jack up front and grab top and bottom of wheel and try to push back and forth in a vertical manner. If any play, suspect bad hub assembly. If so, I checked all prices with GM dealers, autozone, oreillys, etc.. Napa has best prices at $180 per side. Hope this helps.

Check the easy things first.
Vibration in only a specific range speed usually indicates tire balance.
Could have thrown a weight or have a defective tire.

Yea, thats what I thought also, until I purchased the '03 Sierra factory wheels to upgrade and put 4 different brand new tires on. Still shudders. Alignment seems to be correct. Wierd thing though, when it starts shuddering, I can throw it in Neutral and it still does it so its not the tranny, but it seems the shudder increases in intensity while going up hills. Also, a test i tried, when it starts vibrating, I hit the brake pedal just enough to make the light come on, this disengages the torque converter, but the shudder is still there. So anyways, I guess the only steps left are to change hub assemblies and check alignment. Other suggestions appreciated. Keep ya posted.

Beemer nut, you might want to check with your dealer about the vibration , I had the same problem with my 04 sierra. There is a technical bulliten that covers this, the number is 02-06-05-003c they put a flex pipe inline on the exhaust pipe before it goes into the muffler and it fixed the vibration on my truck.

Can you tell me if the cause of the vibration was ever determied? I am having a similar problem now with my 2001 HD 6.0L
