hi guys
well i dont know where to start.......
my first motor lost compression reason cracked motor block my fault should have flushed the rad to much water(winter time)......
installed the second motor went good for awhile but lost compression again, reason dont know lost $400........put in the third motor i drove and put maybe 500 miles lost compression again (under warranty) this is the 4th motor and i cant figure out y it keeps loosing compression.....
ill tell you this during the times between motors i did blow out some spark plugs and i figured out that the timing is off....but y the motor.....
i m going to take it to ford and get the timing fixed and compression checked(dont trust the other mechanic) what else should i tell the mechanic to check.......
thnx

Describe as best you can what you mean by "lost compression" and "blew out sparkplugs"??
The replacement engines were complete engines from auto salvage yard or what?

yes all motors from salvage yards......
and the spark plugs blew where it sparks dont know the reason but i assume that the timing is off cause i can hear the motor not starting normal at startup .........
for the motor sake lost compression, i mean motor blown dont know exactly what blew inside the motor but there is no compression so i had 3 months warranty and they changed it (3rd motor to the 4th motor)
all i want to do is get it checked out from a reputable mechanic so this does not happen again.........
if you need more details just ask and i will answer to the best of my ability...
thnx for all your time guys

if the timing is wrong that could really f up a motor, u think a couple spark plug wires might be switched around? it might be able to run like this but extremely shitty, i think if #3 and #2 are switched it will run but it will be very shitty.

Thanks for the reply. I agree with your course of action by getting a reputable mechanic this time. Of course I don't know what was done to the engine before it was installed, maybe a new timing belt was installed. A mistake had to be made and repeated, to have the same result in so short a time. If a timing belt was installed incorrectly, it would cause incorrect timing, cause interference between the valves and pistons, and cause the damage you described. Hope you have better luck this time. If you have any questions someone on this forum
will I'm sure, try to help.

well i didnt take it yet to a mechanic but i think i might know what the problem is........

first thing first

how i do i tell what year my motor is cause they didnt tell me what year the motor was when they put the motor in......

second ..........

i think the problem with the motors were....the computer,,,, cause the motor was changed so many time i think that they just dropped in any motor without checking to see if the computer was compatible or met the requiremnts for the new(used) motor...cause if i'm not mistaken the computer is the brain for the timeing and spark etc etc

please correct me if im wrong so that i can take my opinion if its correct to a mechanic and tell them to start there before i dump to much money into it

Engine Identification: Engine identification label is located on engine timing cover.
If you take the car to a reputable mechanic/garage you should not have to tell him your diagnosis. Just the history will do. A simple engine compression test and basic timing check will provide a lot of information.
You haven't provided much detail relative to the size engine you have, and if the 'salvage engines' are complete with Fuel Injection, ignition or what ever. What type ignition does it have?
As I said before, there has to be a common cause to destroy that many engines. I was thinking of the cam being out of time....causing interference but you could be right......if there was pre-ignition (spark knock) it wouldn't take long to cause piston failure. Once again, start with a good mechanic, after doing his basis checks, he should be able to determine if pre-ignition is happening. Too bad an autopsy was not performed on the blown engines....
