My car the idle sometimes drops lower then normal and as sudden as it changes it goes back to normal. car drives fine no check engine light but this car has done it ever sence I bought it. Dont know if it is normal with these little cars or not.

I have tried taking off the iac valve and cleaned it then used the wd 40 on it.

any other suggestions.

Yeah, sounds pretty normal if you are talking 100 RPM or so. I think it is just the computer adjusting and re-adjusting fuel mixture and stuff.

Thanks I couldnt tell you the difference in rpm it is just noticeable. Only real complaint I have with this car is when I put the a/c the cars idle really change lower. More like a heavy load with lights a/c.

I've noticed it in my car too. I also noticed the fan comes on when the rpm's drop, just for a second though, then it goes off and the rpm's jump back up. I've made an a/f meter and also noticed the engine runs a tad richer during these times, and it only happens after the car is warmed up. Nothin bad has ever happened, imo, nothing to worry about.

lol, just note, IMO (In My Opinion). I'm not gonna bother with mine, but that's not saying it's not something bad. It very well could be, I just couldn't be bothered by it right now, since it's done it since the day I got it and I've had no ill effects.
