Engine Surging BadTheNewShape 02-18-2005, 09:20 PM When i come up to a stop and my engine is idling my engine starts to surge between 0 to 1000 rpms. It seems like it will die on me on the road but it doesnt. What seems to be the problem. I have a 95 Pontiac Grand Prix SE 3.1. 121,445m on it. please respond. thanks. llst 02-18-2005, 10:39 PM Might be a lower intake manifold gasket. We had a 92 Olds that would idle at increasingly higher rpm's due to an intake gasket. I don't recall it surging. Larry SUERED 02-18-2005, 11:39 PM Hello, Can be a blocked fuel injector over compensated for by the computer. Try some fuel line cleaner in your gas tank. A can of GM top engine cleaner. This exact problem happened to my wifes car 3 years ago--the cure was fuel injector cleaning by induction rail cleaning---an expensive lesson for us at a shop. The can in the tank may be the painless route = cost $7.00 from GM dealer. JR vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
