I just noticed a problem with my 1991 Ford Escort LX. I noticed that oil has some how been getting into the air filter and casing. I only know that the oil is coming through a hose that goes into area where I add my oil. Basically it looks as though oil is being sprayed into the air filter casing and filter. I do not know too much about cars, but would appreciate any help out there.

In addition, I have noticed that the bottom of my oil pan and surrounding area to that are all coated with oil. Definitely an oil leak somewhere. Any suggestions?

Thank you for replying.

What size engine?
Is the air filter in a metal housing?

The oil in your airbox is coming from the breather tube.
