Electical ProblemsCF5150 02-17-2005, 01:48 PM I have owned my 2001 Blazer LS 4X4 for about 3 months now. It has about 71,000 kilometers (about 44,000 miles) on the odometer. I have some wacky $#!& going with the electical. Every once in a while, as I am driving, I get a sudden loss in electrical power causing everthing electrical to shut down. It only happens for an instant, and the vehicle does not stall when this happens. However, when power returns, the clock on the Cd unit is reset to 12:00 and every light on the "information center" on the guage cluster is lit up. A few seconds later, everything returns to normal. And now I am coming across a new problem. Every so often it wants to stall when at idle. If you don't keep your foot on the gas to maintain 1000RPM or higher, it stalls and all the lights go very dim. My initial guess would be an alternator. Anyone got other any ideas? Anyone got other any ideas? my guess is since reving motor makes differance, you have loose wire connection, dirty/corroded wire connection fitting or bare wire grounding out in motor area that is moved when motor moves from reving ... unplug/replug/check tightness/cleaness on all connectors that might be moved from tilting motor. are any near hot areas that may have burnt insulation ? Delco has a problem with leaking batteries at this terminal. sockeye3 02-21-2005, 02:16 AM Mine did about the same thing. AC Delco battery positive terminal fell right out. It may also be leaking and destroying your cables as mentioned earlier. CF5150 02-21-2005, 03:07 PM Hey guys, I removed and cleaned the terminals from the battery and made sure they were secure when I replaced them. So far, so good. It didn't have the O.E.
