blazer dies at stop lightsslipknot_me 02-17-2005, 11:04 AM I recently replaced the fuel pump in my 99 Blazer. The following day it started stalling at stop signs. Thinking that I may have stirred up some crud in the tank, I changed fuel filter, put in the best fuel additive I could find and filled up the tank with gas. This cured the problem until I got down to about 1/4 tank of fuel and now its stalling again. I put more gas in it today and it has not stalled so far. I did notice that after I turn the key off that the fuel guage drops to empty and then shortly afterwards climbs back up to half a tank. Could it be a loose wire connection? I'm just hoping that I dont have to drop that tank again. It wasn't fun the first time. Keith ricksza 02-18-2005, 10:03 AM I hate to say this, but I think the problem is in your tank. Either the float for the sender is hanging up and you're running out of gas while the gauge is still reading 1/4. Or you have a leak in the fuel line in the tank and your sucking air when it's gets low. slipknot_me 02-18-2005, 10:24 AM Something else that I noticed today, when I turn the key off the fuel guage drops to half and stops. I open the drivers side door and the guage drops to E. I close the door and after about 30 sec. the guage goes back to 1/2. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
