"Avatar" and Signature?

As you may see, I unsuccessfully attempted to download a custom "avatar," afterwards realizing I am slightly behind the curve when it comes to these things. Responses to any of the below would be very helpful and appreciated.

1. What exactly is the significance and/or implications of this "avatar?"
2. And what about the signature?
3. Lastly, which of the above two holds more importance, or do they just work in cojunction with one another?

Thanks,
ah

Okay my bad then, I'm not asking about my specific stuff, just the avatars and signatures in general. All I really want to know is what gets more bang for the buck, avatar or signature block.

An avatar is a small picture underneath your screen name. It is generally something that says something about your personality, interests or beleifs.

Your signature is the text and images below each post you make. Again, it is sort of personalising your posts in the anonymous world of the internet.

You can upload files, if they are the right format and size, directly in the avatar section of the control panel.

To add a picture to your signature, upload it to your gallery:
files.automotiveforums.com

and follow the instructions below the image after it is uploaded and processed.

Hope this helps.

I want to know what your avatar is. A blown up body? Throw up? or both?
