qr25sentra 02-18-2005, 03:43 PM right now im payin less than 900 a year, but i got one speedin ticket, so far it hasnt gone up and the ticket happened almost a yr ago..(104 in a 55) so that would definitly go up.. and im only 18 so i figure my insurance will be a lot higher with the srt-4. PearlGT 02-18-2005, 06:36 PM I think most people here on this forum maybe more ¼ mile or top speed orientated than not, the twisty can’t be raced by anybody with the right car or not. And then finding a place that’s safe is another thing by it’s self. However I could be wrong so I will say it first. How many of you out here set up races threw the twisty in your home area. With out nearly killing grandmother. Also, I have driven both of these cars, me and my race friends trade cars sometime because we like everything that runs mid 13’s and better, tell you what, take at Corvette Z06 out and the EVO and tell what one is fun and handles great. I have, they are both great but I love power sliding the Z06 with skill a bit more that letting the car do what it does by it self. We all know all wheel drive grips like hell. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v206/thug1love2003/MachandZ06pic1.jpg I didn't read this thread all the way through but if you don't mind me asking why did you post pictures up with each reply? We know you own a mach1 and like domestics, but rofl that shit's kinda random (good pics though). Damn nice car steiner, those evos are about the most fun and responsive cars to drive on the road for a reasonable price these days, enjoy that beast. dampachi 02-18-2005, 09:03 PM Uh, dude...the pics are great. I love how he posted pics with each reply. Keep up the great work, Mach 1 Racer. Steiner 02-19-2005, 12:11 AM im lookin to buy a new srt-4 this summer.. the only thing holdin me back is if my insurance skyrockets. then ill probably get a spec-v. I owned an '02 Spec V before my '04 SRT-4. Totally different animals. The thing I remember most about the Spec V (besides watching a pickup truck t-bone me at 50mph from the driver's seat) was the Rockford Fosgate sound system. It was pretty awesome. When I think about the SRT-4 I think about busting the tires loose at 40mph. Very different animals. Another thing to consider...I can remember dozens of times just being bored an jumping in the SRT-4 to take a spin. I never did that with the Spec V. It just didn't occur to me. Buy the SRT-4 if you can. :iceslolan fierangero 02-19-2005, 01:38 AM WHEW, read all 5 pages. anyway. lets see.. everyone of them will say that they are freaking mean up top with just a cam and bolt ons. also the mopar stage 2 cost 24000. alright now add AWD, brembo brakes, alumium suspension parts, recaro seats, an active center differential, and then we'll see how much that SRT4 cost now. haha recaro seats make it HELLA FAST! just teasin, i like both cars a lot, all though ive read that for all intents and purposes, after launch the evo is a FWD car, it only splits 50/50 (or 60/40? cant remember) when traction is needed. that was a big turnoff for me, me no like FWD as much. i read that in car and driver, when they were comparing the MR to the STi. gotta love those little fins on the back of the roof. oh yeah, and OMG I WANT UR MACH 1!! TatII 02-19-2005, 03:05 AM WHEW, read all 5 pages. anyway. lets see.. haha recaro seats make it HELLA FAST! just teasin, i like both cars a lot, all though ive read that for all intents and purposes, after launch the evo is a FWD car, it only splits 50/50 (or 60/40? cant remember) when traction is needed. that was a big turnoff for me, me no like FWD as much. i read that in car and driver, when they were comparing the MR to the STi. gotta love those little fins on the back of the roof. oh yeah, and OMG I WANT UR MACH 1!! the EVO will never get a full tq split of 100/0 to act like a fwd. i don't know the exact the numbers but its nothing like a 4x4 in 4wd mode. this car has a torsen style center differential thats always spliting tq front to back while the rear lsd splits tq side to side. like how subaru says, it transfers power from teh wheel that slips to the wheel that grips. while the STi's center diff is a active center diff made up of electronically controlled, multiple clutch discs and theres wheel sensors and g meters that tell the computer how much tq split it needs. its funny casue with all that the EVO's mechanical torsen diff is still better responding then the STi's active center diff. also new for 04-05 for the evo's is that they also get their own active center differential just like the j-spec cars. there are 3 settings. 1) tarmac 2) gravel 3) snow each one will give tell the computer to split tq in a pre determined amount. whats missing now even in the MR is the AYC ( active yaw controller ) which transfers tq side to side electronically. as what jermy clarkson said, when you really hammer the car in a tight ass corner, the car is actually 1 wheel drive casue thats where the most available grip is. too bad we might never see a u.s spec evo with the AYC becasue its placement is near the fuel tank. and for emissions purpose, mitsu had to put a charcoal canister there for evaporative emissions for the fuel tank. so theres simply no room for it. maybe in the next MR for hte EVO 9 we would get it. Steiner 02-19-2005, 11:26 AM too bad we might never see a u.s spec evo with the AYC becasue its placement is near the fuel tank. and for emissions purpose, mitsu had to put a charcoal canister there for evaporative emissions for the fuel tank. so theres simply no room for it. maybe in the next MR for hte EVO 9 we would get it. That's very interesting. I had no idea that was the reason but I guess emmissions shouldn't surprise any of us. BTW...did you know it's illegal to use a rebuilt engine in Japan? :eek7: TatII 02-19-2005, 11:46 AM in japan they have this very strict inspect of each vehicle. most of them that are running perfectly fine won't pass, and it would cost so much to replace whats needed to be fixed, that they just junk'em, and buy a used car that will pass. thats why theres such a surplus of SR20DET's in japan, along with CA18DET, and RB25DET's which around 30K miles on them. they won't even bother fixing them. dampachi 02-19-2005, 01:03 PM Yup, that's exactly why JDM motors are so plentiful. SpeedDemon101 02-20-2005, 12:39 AM im hungry? lamehonda 02-20-2005, 03:37 PM Love the RS  No dumb looking spoiler that you don't need unless your at the track. Hope you aren't headed to the track  fierangero 02-20-2005, 07:49 PM yeah i heard in japan, instead of a tune-up at 30k u gotta get a new engine :) if that was true around here, both my cars would be on their 6th engine!
