Why does my engine pass red line?

I have an auto trans, and i have ram intake on my 91 accord..... when i punch the gas it will like pass red line sometimes! i know this is not good........is my intake doing that? or is it normal....i dont recall it doing that before.... is there a way to set up the engine so it doesnt do that? thank you

How far over redline, a few hundred rpms, or a thousand?

An intake could cause the engine to rev a bit longer, but you mentioned in another post you had a problem with the S light. If it turns out to be a problem with the TCU going out, then it could be caused by that.
