Squeeky steeringpaoliman 02-15-2005, 08:23 PM I have a 2002 cavalier coupe and when I turn the steering wheel to the right or left it squeeks. I can't tell if it inside or outside. I looked for places to lube the linkage but could not find any. Has anybody else had this sort of problem? Any help would be appreciated. noshun 02-15-2005, 09:22 PM I have a 2002 cavalier coupe and when I turn the steering wheel to the right or left it squeeks. I can't tell if it inside or outside. Any help would be appreciated. it could be the contacts for the horn on the back of the steering wheel. They use a special electrical conducting grease that wears away over time! If you do try to do this yourself. Disconnect the battery and be extremly careful of the airbag! big dude1 02-15-2005, 10:23 PM speaking of horns, i hate my horn... its so dam sensitive like i was reading a book in my car the other day and i tapped the center thing where the horn is and it beeped.... does it all the time when im turning and accidentally brush the horn it beeps noshun 02-16-2005, 08:42 PM speaking of horns, i hate my horn... its so dam sensitive like i was reading a book in my car the other day and i tapped the center thing where the horn is and it beeped.... does it all the time when im turning and accidentally brush the horn it beeps Take out the fuse! big dude1 02-17-2005, 12:08 AM but then when i need my horn im gonna have to put the fuse back in.... and if i need to use my horn that bad im not gonna have time to open the door, pull the fuse panel, put the fuse in, shut the door, and honk the horn... am i just gonna say "hey can u wait a second b 4 u pull out in front of me? i need to hook up my horn first..." and hes gonna say "oh sure no problem" lol noshun 02-17-2005, 08:26 PM but then when i need my horn im gonna have to put the fuse back in.... and if i need to use my horn that bad im not gonna have time to open the door, pull the fuse panel, put the fuse in, shut the door, and honk the horn... am i just gonna say "hey can u wait a second b 4 u pull out in front of me? i need to hook up my horn first..." and hes gonna say "oh sure no problem" lol Wire up a toggle switch then! vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
