1996 Passport dipstick ?

Dumb question

I have 1996 Passport 5 speed manual and found that I had a question on the dipstick location Facing the motor, the chilton book says that the oil dipstick is on the right had side between the engine and the brake master cylinder. I cannot seem to find it. I see the dipstick on the left side of the engine. This the book said was for the transmission.

Does this go to chck the manaul tranny fluid?
Please give me some help in finding the engine oil dipstick

There is only one dipstick under the hood of a first gen 5-speed V6 and it is right where you described it; left hand side (as looking from the front of the vehicle) of the engine. There is no dipstick for checking manual tranny fluid level. The dipstick for the 4-banger is on the right side between the master cylinder and engine.
