I had it with Honda ricers, everyone of them who used to own a civic with altaza lights is now getting a 240. last night, when we where going to Long Beach we stopped by 76 to get gas. We where 7 cars total, (4X240 , 3X86) when a DUDE pulls by us and asks if we are drifters. He said that he owned civic and now he wants a RWD car so he can drift.
He looks at our cars and asked many dumb Q such as do u have skyline motor in? I want the SR because its cooool…

Anyways a highway patrol cars parks by us, and the cops go inside the mini market. In the mean time the DUDE in his stock 89 240 gets in his car and drives out, but not before dumping the clutch and doing a one wheel burn out!
Yes the cops heard it and yes, they chase him.

This is the moral of the story, 2 years from now all cops EVERYWHERE will have there eyes and ear out for 240 sx owners. Before u know it a hand books will be provided to local cops with the info about 240 and the illegal swaps and Ts.

All of that is dud to people like “DUDE” who buy a 240 and swap “whatever” in it and get pulled over for stupid reasons. D1 and magazines such as SS, due contribute allot to the madness, but it’s the owners who are responsible, and ricers are not very responsible!

I don’t know, I might sell my car in 2 years and get something else. Knowing that everyone in the getto and in the station knows about 240 and SR, makes my daily driving more and more uncomfortable. I don’t what to get pulled over and have my car taken away, I don’t do anything stupid on the streets but cops will catch-up to the SR thing thanks to RICERS…

isnt that teh same with all cars???? You can get by with an sr. OR DONT GET A FUCKING SR. 240 are not even close to the new civics....why?.....because there's not that much of them out there!!!!!!! Dont worry dude, or just sell your car now and get out of the scene. Plus what else would you buy??? 240sx is the cheapest performer out there.

I know, I love my SR and my 240. I obey traffic rules but it’s always in my mined when I see a petrol car.

I don't want to sell my car, but if it comes to it, I would buy a FC. It has T stock and not many people have it...

Till then, I will still dive my beloved 240 and keep the look stock.

Take it as a complement that someone gives a shit about your car. We've all been though our ricey stage, even Domesic owners at one point in their car career thought some 350ci POS was cool because it had chrome caps and a K&N.

I don't think the 240 will ever be a "Civic" just because there aren't that many out there. As long as we all keep buying these cars and loving them, then no ricers should be able to get their hands on them! There are a couple ricey 240's in my town...it makes me sick...especially since those are virtually the ONLY 240's in town...

well i don't know, i notice allot of 240 (rice) where i live, but few have the SR or KA-T so at least thats OK!

i can't say i've seen more than one riced out 240.. it was a red s14, muffler, stickers left right and centre, silvia emblems.. even thats not terribly ricey but i consider it so.. other than that, most of the 240s here are stock except for suspension.. most of them are moderately lowered (1.5" average maybe..) so its not too bad.. there aren't a ton of srs and i don't think i've seen a kat but those that aren't f/i aren't from ottawa..

There aint no ricey 240s here...theres like 2-3 into the scene and the newest one is a red 92 hatch...or i think a 92. But it had exhaust and on the front windshiled at top said something...sooo hopefully i can meet him soon...and find out hes not rice powered.

Honestly it has gotten worse in the LA area for me as of not that long ago. Why?? I dont know but it has. It never used to be that bad for me while driving my 240 around. I still dont see that many 240's over here BUT the Civics see me.

Like for example, last night I was coming back from visiting my girl in Santa Barbara, you know for Valentine's weekend, anyways, I was coming back to LA around 12 on the 101 when I drove threw a racing crew about 10 deep. Couple of Integras, Civics, Accords, and then the '00 V6 ACCORD, WRX, and EVO VIII as the leaders, I guess, up in the front. It was fuckin comedy. The Accord rolled up in front of me, WRX to the left, EVO VIII to the right and then the minions of Integras and Civics behind. They were all reving, stepping on the gas then slowing down trying to get me to race them. Anyways I didnt because I knew that construction was going on ahead, cuz I had just been up the week before, and it would be pointless to race cuz of the traffic coming up. Plus I have no mods other than an exhaust and I need a new suspension, one pot hole and good bye 240. I had too back out and look like a bitch. Anyways my point being no one ever used to give me shit before. Before what? I dont know. But as of late I've been getting alot of that shit.

Any takers as to why the 240's have been getting more recognition as of late other than because of the drifters?

sorry, but drifting is the only reason the 240 has blown up so huge. but the more knowledgeable of us knew the car for it being a very affordable RWD sports car. now kids who just got their liscneces are watching drift events on dvd's and what not, and now they wanna try it. plus, alot of them have got caught up in the "oh look at my engine is from japan" craze thats been going around in a hell of alot of jap cars these days. when you see newbies wanting 240s, its for one of 2 things, to drift or to drag with a Skyline engine in it. oh well, we were all once stupid so i'm not bitchin or anything.
