'96 LX 1.9L: Starter Solenoid Location?

My '96 LX 1.9L/5 spd. starter wont function 50% of the time. The clutch depressed safety switch checks good and I hear an underdash relay operate when the clutch is depressed and the ignition switch is rotated into the start mode. Sometimes the starter will operate after repeated start attempts. High humidity seems to aggravate the problem. All these symptoms lead me to believe there is a connector or ground lead oxidation/corrosion problem at the starter solenoid, or the solenoid itself is failing. The question is: Where is that solenoid located? IIRC the solenoid was on the left inner fender of my '91 Pony but unless it's in disguise there's no solenoid on the fender of this car. Anyone know where it's hidden?

Thanks.

The (+) battery lead is attached to the starter solonoid, near battery.

Thanks for the reply, Alvin, but it's not there. After a thorough search of that area (again) and coming up empty handed (again) I went to a dealership and was fortunate enough to find someone there that would take the time to look up the starter system on their intranet. The '96 1.9 L engine doesn't have a starter solenoid, per se. It's called a "starter driver" and is a component of the starter; very similar to the GM starters of many years. With some contortion I was able to reach the connector and jack it off and on a few times and haven't had any starting trouble since. When the weather gets warmer I'll do a thorough cleaning of the connector.

Graywing,
Thanks for the feed-back, and glad to hear you fixed the problem.
Hey, I was half-right (half bright) by telling you the (+) battery lead was attached......ha-ha. :)
All the best,
