Hey guys I got this punk at school who just got his 97 gsr with an intake and exhaust. Now he is always in my face saying he can beat me in a drag race. I know it's stuped but I am just wandering can my 03 base RSX with an intake take his integra?

.. this punk at school who just got his 97 gsr ... in my face saying he can beat me ....
LOL!
Arguments between I-4 and V-8 are stupid enough.
But now we've got to deal with New I-4 versus Old I-4.

Just ignore the moron and he'll find someone else to bug.

Say something that Vin Diesel might say, like "I'd race you but its a waste of NAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWZ" (and you gotta stretch out the NAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWZ) or "my cylinders are bigger than yours, bitch!"

03rsx-This is just another example of
VROOOOOOtinypenisOOOOOOOOOOOOM! Syndrome.
Don't fall for it.

Well I looked up at the stats and the gsr had more HP plus it had an intake and exhuast so that should give him around 10HP but my car does have more torque. Well I'll find out tomorrow.

I can't believe I took him by 1 1/2-2 car lenghts. I didn't race for money but for respect and I am getting plenty of that now. I got him at the end of 2nd gear and then just kept on going. Thanx for your advice it gave me a lot of confidence! I am not grate at racing 'cause I try to be careful between gears while redlinging.

No, I think I am pretty much done with racing. I'll just try to get some exterior modifications on my car because it looks all stock right now. I was wandering my friend just got his '00 celica gt-s w/e-shift automatic he is not braging that he could take me or anything like that but I think he thinks he can. Can he?

He will beat you every day of the week. The regular celicas arent that fast but the gt-s is one quick little bastard

Yeah I thought so. I drove it couple of times and wow as soon as the tach hits above 6,000 RPM the car just rockets off.

Well, it's a Yamaha motorcycle engine.

I read an article about a company in England that is mating two I-4 Suzuki Hayabusa engines together to create a 2.6 Liter V-8 engine with a redline around 14,000 RPM.

The Honda F1 is a 3L V12 with like 15000RPM redine:p

And the Mugen RWD V8 Legend (new RL) has a 9000RPM readline, that thing is a beast and a M5 killer and a current JGTC and LeMans engine.

It's fast after 6,000 because thats when VVTL-I kicks in but you don't get to enjoy the acceleration much because you have to shift at around 7,800. And when you do, it drops the RPM to about 5,000 so it takes a while to get to the VVTL-I range again.

I have the base RSX not the Type-S! I wish I had a Type-S but my pocket is a little small right now. Being only 17

The rsx s and the gts race is not a drivers race, its a me winning race...now mind you I haven't completely stomped gts' but I've beaten consistantly been faster...and I can't drive manual!

The RSX Type S and Celica GTS are closer than you might think. It all comes down to the driver, and if they are equal, the RSX has a slight advantage. I believe they made the GTS in automatic as well as the 6 speed, so a lot of the GTS's out there would not even stand a chance against the Type S.

Lift kicks in a 6,200rpms and you don't shift until 8400rpms. If you are a good driver you can land in the 6500rpm range on the 1-2 shift and higher on every other shift.

:werd: The Type S and GT-S are as closely matched as two cars can get.. a slight gust of wind could probably change the outcome if both drivers were equal.

What times are you RSX Type S guys running stock, full interior?? Myself and a few others at newcelica.org have gotten 14.7's stock.. only one member has managed a 14.6.

I haven't gotten a chance to race a Type S yet.. hardly anyone around here buys RSX's... :(

Um just to let you know, i own a 94 Gsr completely stock. And ive raced several base rsxs and i pull nasty. So i unfortunately do not believe you took it. Ive raced some with i/h/e and me being stock still pulled. Unless of course he sucks as a driver.. than anythings possible

The celica GTS should be more paired with a GSR not a type S. Ive raced several GTS and won consistently. Not by much but ive won every race. I raced a type S with intake and he pulled me. So i believe the GTS should be put against a GSR not a type S. Type S will take it all the time.

It actually is a drivers race, the Celica has better tires and is lighter, but the RSX has slightly more power.

Do any of you guys know what the most you can bore and stroke the gsr motor? My friend just got his done and damn its fast

I think a Celica GTS is better compared with a Prelude Type SH but it can also compete with an rsx-s. In the end it all comes down to driver. And also a base rsx vs a gsr the gsr should definitely have the advantage being lighter with more power but maybe you were a better driver or maybe he had a bad run. Should make it a 2 outta 3 race then you will truly see which is faster in the end. You still might come out on top though.

If it is the auto shift you well be able to take him. They have no power off the line. It is almost like they have turbo lag with no turbo. I have a friend that had 2002 GTS with auto shift. It gets really strong at 6000 rpms but you'll be so far ahead by the time he actually gets moving that it probable wont matter
