97 4Runner "popping" sound from front suspensionrunner97 02-11-2005, 12:20 PM Recently when making right turns in my 97 4Runner (67K), I hear (and feel) a popping sound. It only makes the sound onece during the turn. No sound when driving straight. It sounds like something in the suspension. I suspect it's either a ball joint or strut. I'm taking it to the dealer in the morning to have them examine. Any ideas....is this common for a 4Runner....and how much do you think a new ball joint installed will be? Thanks Brian R. 02-11-2005, 01:36 PM It may be your stabilizer bar bushings. You can replace them in 10 min for $10 or so. If you do, polish the stabilizer bar with a strip of emory cloth where it rubs the bushing. The split in the bushing goes toward the front.
