Whoo.. Thats kinda a big question. Your gonna need a TII thats for sure!!! Turbo, ECU, and all the goodies! D3rELiC 02-10-2005, 07:27 AM you'll need something in the 350hp range i guess, maybe a bit more, with the weight of your car. Soyo 02-10-2005, 08:26 PM if you do a bit of weight reduction and have nice big sticky tires you could do it with 300hp I say... on paper it says that a 2700 lb. car can run 12.8 with 300hp... ofcourse you can't go by that alone but thats a good way to get the idea what you need I say you don't need a TII although it would be way easier to do it with a TII... you'd need a small brigeport if you went NA because a street port isn't gonna help enough thats for sure you are gonna want an unrestrictive exhaust and all the obvious things like that... fuel management and such too... getting good at driving the car is probably the most important factor though, get wider tires and lighter wheels and just work on your launches and everything... there is really no sure shot way but I think you'll be able to figure it out blight 02-11-2005, 09:15 AM if you do a bit of weight reduction and have nice big sticky tires you could do it with 300hp I say... on paper it says that a 2700 lb. car can run 12.8 with 300hp... ofcourse you can't go by that alone but thats a good way to get the idea what you need I say you don't need a TII although it would be way easier to do it with a TII... you'd need a small brigeport if you went NA because a street port isn't gonna help enough thats for sure you are gonna want an unrestrictive exhaust and all the obvious things like that... fuel management and such too... getting good at driving the car is probably the most important factor though, get wider tires and lighter wheels and just work on your launches and everything... there is really no sure shot way but I think you'll be able to figure it out well at www.japanstarmotor.com they are selling a buch of vg30dett from teh 300zx (last year range) and that has about that much power plus get about 26 on the hiway and weighs about 34-3500 pounds. so i figure i would get better with some tuning and with the lighter car. also i know it will fit in one of these because they are sticking v8s in these not just twin turbo v6s.... so. Any how i love that motor i have NO idea why i love it so much. but i heard MPG sucks in these rx-7s no matter what year or what you do to it for the most part. Anyhow i am just looking for a good looking cheap car that will take that motor (it is rwd setup motor so...) if you guys have anyother suggestions that it will fit in easily let me know. I want the car to look "pretty" though otherwise my girlfriend is going to kill me. We are small people too so i know we can fuck around in this car (i love these they handle great and there is a decent amount of room in them!). So those are the basic requirments. 1. rwd 2. big enough to fuck around in 3. lighter than 3000 pounds stock 4. looks "pretty" (a quote from her - "just as long as it is fast and pretty") so thansk for your guys help by the way. D3rELiC 02-11-2005, 11:59 AM the vg30dett is pain in the ass to work on, ask any fairlady owner, some of them even drop rb engines in to be able to work on the engine without pulling the fucker out that said, pistons sucks in rx cars, go buy a chevette and leave us closed mind ppl alone MBTN 02-11-2005, 12:08 PM I can tell you don't bother. The reason? You asked about fuel economy. drftk1d 02-11-2005, 03:20 PM I can tell you don't bother. The reason? You asked about fuel economy. i was about to say the same thing. 12s in the 1/4 mile? its like the old saying goes cheap, reliable, fast. pick any two. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
