Hi, Anyone ever put a 302 Ford engine in a cj7? Well my brother stipped this jeep completely, sandblasted the frame, reinforced the frame and started welding pieces on the body. I havent seen this jeep yet, it is in storage until I can bring it to where I live hopefully in March. He had colon cancer twice and beat it but this time he couldnt. He died Dec. 1st and my mom and step father want me to get it back on the road like he dreamed of doing. I dont know what shape the body is in but my step dad said he took the 6 cylinder out and had a 302 he was going to put in it. He has brand new heads for this engine and a bunch of other stuff to put on it. I am just wondering how hard its going to be to put the 302 in it? Or if anyone knows of any links of how to do this? I saw that JC Whitney sells the motor mounts but it says for off road use only, why couldnt they be used for the street also? Well I'll be posting more in the near future after I get it home and see what I have to do. From what I'm told the axles are off of the frame so it wont be a quick job getting it back together! Thank You in advance! Jake :smokin:

Sorry to hear about your brother. I just lost a friend to colon cancer so i know how that is. Can't tell you about the engine, but it sounds like a good fit. JCWhitney says that on quite a few items. Try calling them and talk to a specialist. It should work, but i would suggest talking to them. If not I'm sure you can get a local shop to order some or eevn custom make them for you. Good luck
