can i use this fuel injection?smellywetdog 02-09-2005, 05:23 PM Ok i need help!....I have a 1992 astro all wheel drive astro with a faulty fuel injection ,but I have a 1991 astro as well as a donor van,can these two be swapped? If so ,is it "open heart surgery" to make the swap? Kings-x59 02-09-2005, 11:57 PM There's a number of guys on this forum that know quite a bit about the fuel injection systems on these vans. A quick search on parts for the fuel injections systems on a '91 and a '92 turns up both a Z motor and a B motor for the '91, both TBI systems. A search on the '92 turns up both TBI and CPI systems. Looks like you might need to post a bit more background information on what you have. smellywetdog 02-11-2005, 04:51 PM There's a number of guys on this forum that know quite a bit about the fuel injection systems on these vans. Kings-x59 02-11-2005, 08:44 PM Looks like your mechanic is right. smellywetdog 02-11-2005, 09:36 PM Looks like your mechanic is right. ..........I was afraid you'd say that!..hehe...I hope he's gentle!...this is gonna hurt CD Smalley 02-12-2005, 06:36 AM No, the FP regulator can be taken apart quite simply on a TBI unit. I've done it dozens of times. There are rebuild kits available from Borg Warner that include all the gaskets and the diaphrahm for the regulator. Everything but the spring. Surely one of your units has an intake spring... smellywetdog 03-07-2005, 05:26 PM thanks cd smalley,im sorry i havent been online to respond with a thank you earlier, but been crazy busy.ill look into pulling the fuel injection apart and getting my hands on the fuel pressure regulator, and hopefully i can rebuild it.could you suggest a site to get a price online,as i live in canada and the pickins are pretty slim around here! vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
