ESOF 4x4 Sliding into Neutraljmp1999sd 02-09-2005, 01:23 PM I have a 1999 F350 SD with ESOF 4x4 system. I get a lot of trouble shifting from 4L back to 2H, with delays and blocks. I also have experienced the truck rolling, even though it was in park, because the 4x4 got into neutral. Has this happened to anyone else, and does anyone know what is causing this?!? 97Bird 02-10-2005, 07:31 PM Possibly drivetrain wrap up. Lift all four tires off the ground at once to relieve pressure and then try shifting into 2H. sump'n serious88' 02-11-2005, 02:28 PM My dad has a 01' SD and he has as manual stick. That is the way to go with ford's new 4wd. There has always been problems with the electronic crap. You need to get it checked out though because my friend has the same ESOF that you have and the hubs didn't lock all the way in and stripped out his hubs and spindles! Its about a $1500 fix!!! sump'n serious88' 02-11-2005, 02:36 PM Try tapping the brake when shifting from 2H to 4L. I woulnt try to shif on the fly. just stop put in nuetral and work the brake pedal lightly. I always shift into reverse to make sure it is locked in. Do the same after shfiting to 2H and back up about 10ft, that helps unlock the hubs. coleld 12-11-2005, 12:28 PM I have an 03 f250 and the 4 wheel drive is stuck in low . This truck only has 17k miles and it's the second winter. has any one had a trouble? What's the fix. I think it's still under warrenty? vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
