It is about 1.5 years since I got 2003 4runner, 8 cyls.
I like the car but one thing is bothering me - the car slows down by itself - often when going down the hill and sometimes during hi speed driving when I slightly touch the break pedal. My friend said that it is some automatic stuff turns on to protect what ever... At first I was convinced but every time it happens, I ask myself why would anyone build the car so that it would suddenly change its speed without drivers concern – it’s dangerous! I did not go to the shop yet expecting usual: “It OK, it’s normal”...
I would greatly appreciate any input regarding this problem

Sounds like the downhill assist system. Maybe someone with your truck will confirm that behavior...

Get out your owner's manual and read about it. It sould tell you if this behavior is normal and then you won't look unknowledgable going to the dealer. If they say "It's normal" then you can pull out the book and ask them to point to the description that backs them up.
