water in oil fill tubetexasbill 02-06-2005, 01:59 AM I own a 1997 F150 4x4 with a 4.6 engine, I find a small amount of water in the oil fill tube a couple of time a week . I have no water on the dip stick and do not seem to be losing coolant. Has anyone else had this happen and can you tell me what the cause was? Any suggestions about what to look at would be helpful. THANKS amac209 02-06-2005, 10:31 AM if you dont drive long enough to get up to operating temperature condensation builds up(mostly in the valve covers). texasbill 02-07-2005, 10:50 AM Thank you for your answer. I am going to flush the engine and see if that helps. ModMech 02-07-2005, 02:34 PM Yes, that is common in humid areas where you drive short distances. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
