My transmission is stuck in second gear I just had it rebuilt about 6,000
miles ago. My transmission is in drive according to my dash. Is there an electrical part that could be a problem and does anybody know where it is at or what the problem could be?!?!

your transmission is in "limp mode" where it has found an electrical fault in the electrical/electronics and has shut down normal functions. Chances are, you have a faulty output speed sensor; very common thing to go on Chrysler transmissions.

Thanks I thought it could be I am going on wednesday to get it checked out! I am not an electrical kind of person! Give me an old 1970 car and I can tell you what is wrong and fix it but not these new ones! I think the automobile industry is a big money racket! You dont need all of the electrical parts to make your car go! Thanks again!! Oh I have a 1991 chrysler new yorker!

Now that I think about it, when I used to work at an independent tranny shop, I had a '91 New Yorker come in for the same problem; there's a TSB for a leaking PRNDL switch gasket. When the gasket fails, tranny fluid gets on the contacts and sends a false reading to the TCM; that might be the problem on your car.
