Differences between 01 and 04 6 litre?

Anyone know what the internal differences are between an 01' 6.0 and an 04' 6.0?

My 01 2500HD has had the piston slap noise thing going on for quite some time, but Monday it started knocking pretty bad on acceleration and deceleration. The dealer has it and after tearing it down has ordered a new engine for it. They said the cylinders had gone out of round. Imagine that with piston slap...

My question is, have they addressed the problem, and will my new engine be quieter on start up?

They say it has been addressed. Mine is incredibly quiet. My 01 was a 4.8 and a knocker. This one has been awesome so far. 15,000 miles or so now.
