OK, so I finally have my car back after some extensive rebuilding (i'll have pics soon) everything runs fine, except I'm not getting any heat. when I start the car the Temp. needle is under the C, and when it gets a 1/4 of the way up (after about 15/20 mins of driving) My check engine light comes on and its the code 12. By this time my heat is starting to work but it smells like exhaust. I checked out the code 12 and its Exhaust gas recirculation system. From what i've been told it might just be a loose vacume tube, but it seems a lil sketchy to me. Can anyone help?

definetly a vacuum hose. check all the hoses on the intake mani and going to the charcoal canister.

or it could also be a miss placed vacuum hose, like hooked up to the wrong spot.

which trim level car do you have? is it a california car?

as far as i know, none of the federal cars had an EGR system, only california cars.

if you smell exhaust through your heater, it could very well be the EGR system has an exhaust leak.

OK, so here's what I've discovered. The ZC aparentyly doesn't have an EGR, and since the 90-93 teg did, my ECU is telling me something is wrong. Which I my case is not having EGR. I stuck in my 88-89 teg ecu and everything cleared up. Man I feel retarded though....

there you go. i knew that the EGR code seemed fishy, thats why i asked if you had a cali car or a fed car.

BTW, not all the 90-91 integras have the EGR system. only the cali cars do. if you can get an ECU from a non SMOG car, it wont throw that code.
