Are you trying to put a 5spd in ? swap from auto to manual? i did that on my 90 shelby t . That wire would be to nuetral safety switch. What it basiaclly does it when u have an automatic trans. its a safety feature so u can not start the car in anything but park an nuetral... so ya dont have a miss-hap an start the car in drive -so your not like Bye bye car lol ~ If not conected properly the car wont even start. also when u change a car from a auto trans to manual conversion - you have to run that to either a toggle switch - but i found it was easyier to just run it straight to the positive terminal on the battery ... an u will not have a problem....
did that help? Good Luck!
