Having a large drop in fuel economy (125 miles to the tank less ).No SES lights.Started two months ago.Noticed after I had recieved a SES 440 code for malfunctioning emmission system.Fixed the 440 code SES light went away. Still having poor fuel economy.Glad to here any suggestions or viewpoints.thanks

how many miles do you have? that'll hopefully narrow it down

are you smelling fuel in the engine compartment?? my haynes manual says to inspect the charcol canister : located on a bracket above the rear axle, behind the gas tank.

Remember, you will lose some economy in the winter with the colder temperatures.

Thanks for the replies. To answer the questions :My current milage per gallon is down to 15-17 ,my normal was 24-28. There is no smell of gas under the hood-The issue I had with the SES light was emmission related(440) . I Disconnected the emmission air lines and blew them out with commpessed air as well as the canister above the rear axle. The SES light went away. This was four weeks ago.The low milage event has been going on since the SES light arrived , which was four weeks before I cleaned out the lines(air) .I replaced the O2 sensor the same day I blew out the lines.
thanks
scott

Do a full tune up. Cap, rotor, plugs, wires, fuel filter, PCV, air filter, replace the charcoal canister, it may actually have fluid in it (gasoline) that has killed the innards. Also check your fuel pressure for giggles.
