I have a 1995 chevy blazer that has a broken remote. I got one for a 1998 blazer from a friend. Can any one tell me if it will work on my blazer? It does look a little different but has the same buttons.

No it won't work, it has to have the same FCC ID as on the back of the original remote.

call up your local Chevy dealer parts dep., and give them you VIN#.
They can give you the correct part number you'll need according to your specific vehicle, and it's security system.

My 1995 Blazer LT came with only one remote. The stealership wanted $60 for the remote and another $70 to program it!!

I found the remote on eBay. I just won the bid today at $10.00 US for remote plus $3.85 to the USPS. That's a significant discount. :naughty:

Anyway, there are instructions online for how to program the remotes yourself. I haven't tried the programming yet, but I found some simple instructions at http://www.talkabouttrucks.com/group/alt.autos.4x4.chevy-trucks/messages/88509.html.

Hope this helps you out.
