LF+ light brown LF- light grey RF+ light green RF- green LR+ brown LR- yellow RR+ blue RR- light blue Just for the hell of it, 12v constant - orange 12v switched - green illumination - gray ground - black These are the same colors in my 2001 silverado. Does this color code still apply? If so, I have both sides out of phase :screwy: jeverett 08-05-2005, 11:51 AM That should be from 99-02. I think they changed in 03. HanibalTheCannibal 08-05-2005, 12:01 PM would having both speakers wires reversed cause sound problems? I know if one side is off it sounds real bad. I hate to say this but my new TYPE-R Alpine 6 1/2's I put in last night sound ok. I wonder if they would sound better if soeaker leads were correctly wired :disappoin korndogg 08-05-2005, 12:10 PM holy old thread. sportin83 08-05-2005, 09:43 PM the wiring has been the same since the late 80's in all gm vehicles, except for the radio acc wire used to be yellow and is now green. if the speakers are out of faze they will usually sound ok at low volume but like shit when turned up. sharkyfour 08-05-2005, 10:18 PM Does anyone know for certain if it changed in '03? I'm guessing so since my '03 has a Class II Databus radio. Does anyone know where I can find an ignition switched wire near the radio in mine? I'm trying to find a place to power a cell phone hands-free kit from. sportin83 08-05-2005, 10:58 PM if you drop the lower dash down and take the metal sheild out, find the main harnes coming down the column and find a pink, orange or brown wire. they all should be about a 10 gauge size. and use any of these, i would recomend a fuse on the wire for safety. sportin83 08-05-2005, 11:01 PM 2003 to 2005 is this from what i have seen which is all same except ign and ill and amp turn on Radio 12v orange + Radio Ground black/white - radio harness Radio Ignition (Class 2 Serial Data) Radio Illumination N/A Factory Amp Turn-on pink + radio harness Power Antenna N/A LF Speaker +/- tan - gray +,- radio harness RF Speaker +/- lt. green - dk. green +,- radio harness LR Speaker +/- brown - yellow +,- radio harness RR Speaker +/- dk. blue - lt. blue vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
