What *Style* of Street Racing..Do You Prefer..?solaris=amazing 01-28-2005, 04:16 PM Me...if anything, it's gonna be a straightline 0-80/100mph run, on a dead street thats NOT crowded (only us to be killed). This i feel is where you see WHAT your car can do.. :evillol: Or, do you prefer driving on the highway, on a roll-like 55-60..and being provoked..or you provoking the other person..and taking it past 110..? :eek7: Either way....please don't do this crap on busy streets-especially when it's rush hour..thats unfair to your cars TRUE potential. CivRacer95 01-28-2005, 04:25 PM I prefer the kicks his ass until he does the ricer fly-by then do it again and again and again until he gets the idea type of street racing. It's all I got around here so it's what I do. late... JekylandHyde 01-28-2005, 04:26 PM When I race on the street, I prefer a closed course where it is completely legal and I can use "ditch to ditch" as they say. Doing 100+ on a public road legally and knowing you can dive into the oncoming lane to apex a turn without fear of a car being on the other side is a complete rush. http://www.pahillclimb.org HighRev87 01-28-2005, 04:26 PM I prefer drag from spot to spot. However with my cars lackluster low end torque, I need to learn to love highway races. want a supra 01-28-2005, 04:31 PM ricer fly-by Ok, I'm 100% on what it is. Is it when you beat them and just slow down (beacuse you won and the race is over), and the other guy doesn't? PWRDbyUNCLEbens 01-28-2005, 04:51 PM Ok, I'm 100% on what it is. Is it when you beat them and just slow down (beacuse you won and the race is over), and the other guy doesn't? And then they pass you, and put a few car legths on you, and then hit their four ways to signal that you (the actual winner) are not the actual winner because you were too stupid to realize that flashers signal the win not just winning the actual race. You have to understand that street racing has evolved, and you better be able to hit the flashers after you win or you will get no respect from any racer... any real racer wether or not you (actually) won by, an inch or a mile because winnings winning except whenever you neglect to turn on your flashers then your a :loser: That'll be my rice rant for today :p want a supra 01-28-2005, 05:09 PM lol... Humm, now I need euro lights and I'll be good to go.(j/k) AlienEvolution 01-28-2005, 05:56 PM or if you dont wanna stop their fly by, jsut get behind em and blind the f*cks w/ your brights! =p i dont really have a preference... tho stoplight racing is a lot more common for me due to the fact taht im rarely on highways GardenSnake02 01-28-2005, 05:58 PM it really depends.. i dont go out looking for races.. they always find me .. sometimes its late at night when i'm waiting for the light to turn green.. or sometimes its when im rolling at 60mph..i prefer while i'm rolling, but im up for either one.. Polygon 01-28-2005, 06:26 PM The only kind of street racing I do is light to light. I've done a few highway runs with people and I like to go canyon driving as well. CassiesMan 01-28-2005, 06:31 PM I prefer Highway, up to 130. I dont like going over 130, becuase my govenor kicks. So its more like I cant go over 130. I'll do drags to. I like to go fast, and sometimes we go through traffic pretty quick. Of course, I hardly ever get to do that. Most of the time its just a quick hop up to 80 or so, sometimes a breif run from 60-100, if that. ricesucks 01-28-2005, 07:15 PM I like light to light the best because my car runs outta juice on the top end (AWD turbo ceilca) I dont mind a roll race tho. I hate going over 120...I feel really unsafe...I know, I LOVE going over 120, I just dont want to do it on public roads.. CassiesMan 01-28-2005, 07:19 PM First time I went over 100, I almost shit myself...then I realized once you drive a car thats stable at 100plus (Rav4->BMW) then it became VERY fun... solaris=amazing 01-28-2005, 07:31 PM Very true cassiesman. Lol, i remember hitting 100 in an 88 chrysler lebaron GTS......SCARY.... But once i got my 95 tbird...100 feels like 50. I can't even fathom doing like over 150 in a vette.. CamaroSSBoy346 01-28-2005, 07:36 PM My car doesnt do to well in highway runs nor from stoplight to stoplight runs. Highways runs I would normally prefer, but I have to be quick, and paying attention or else its all over. If I'm just cruising on the freeway/highway I keep it in OD/4th gear. I went from a 60-roll against a 2000 Camaro SS, and before the transmission could shift down it was all over-thats my problem-my transmission doesnt downshift immediatly, it waits a few seconds (about 3-5 sometimes more..thanks to my 4R70W torque converter). So, sometimes I'll manually downshift, which I still need to memorize. from 4th to 3rd gear its a push button and from 3rd to 2nd or 2nd to 1st I just move the shifter. Push button OD..PITA. From a dig, my car still doesnt fair to well. 3:08's, 4000lbs, no Trac-Lok, and only ~200 WHP (givertake)..it doesnt work to well. (Factory stock, 4.6L Thunderbirds dyno 160) Once I get my TC replaced with a MK8 or Maurder TC, my car will be good from a roll. Cant do much from a dig, but hope the other guy is slower or misses a shift. MR2Driver 01-28-2005, 07:46 PM From a dead stop, with someone to call the start, preferably a female. youngvr4 01-28-2005, 07:57 PM highway runs are my fav RedLightning 01-28-2005, 08:46 PM I don't really race, but I like to go from a stop(I suck from a roll). chevydrummer76 01-28-2005, 09:26 PM stoplight.......or from a roll 25 mph so I dont have to fight for traction. I have taken my truck up to 100...with the gearing its probably good for 120, not bad for 3 gears. TerminalVelocity 01-28-2005, 11:39 PM I like drifting through newyork in queens as I shout JDM POWER in my left hand drive car!!!! Dude...my life is delusional, BUT SWEET! :icon16: -The Stig- 01-28-2005, 11:42 PM I like drifting through newyork in queens as I shout JDM POWER in my left hand drive car!!!! Dude...my life is delusional, BUT SWEET! :icon16: dude, that wasn't New York! It was El PASO TEXAS!!! OMIKRON UP...MAH NIGGAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111ONE whoisdabomb86 01-29-2005, 12:28 AM 3 speed, 3.73's, i kinda tend to do stoplight races. something about drag racin thats just so much better than highway runs or maybe its just that my top speed is like 115. :disappoin TatII 01-29-2005, 01:08 AM ahhh OMIKRON!!! i haven't heard that in a long time, i wonder if any of the newer guys here have any idea what it means? or how about striking them down with the good earth? anyways back to the subject, i perfer freeway runs since thats where i catch most of my races, plus my car really doens't start pullin on cars until 3rd gear anyways. Mister_Sinister 01-29-2005, 01:56 AM I like the street races where I don't get into a wreck or arrested. Yeah, those are great. dampachi 01-29-2005, 02:13 AM I like the ones from a light where you don't have to launch..but just cruise off THEN go. Stupid traction.... Underground_Killah 01-29-2005, 02:54 AM i perfer from a stop to a light... those are good. i don't like rolls, but i'll still do them. only on areas with no cops and no innocents... that makes it unfun in my eyes Robs71Nova 01-29-2005, 03:05 AM I also prefer racing from stoplight to stoplight. Hard to beat the gobs of low end torque a big block makes, providing you can get traction. Its also not real fun going 110+ mph in a 30 year old box (areodynamically the Nova is a box) as It can get pretty squirrely. In my WS6, I will race anywhere but I usually try not to race. Save that for the Nova. Rob 2of9 01-29-2005, 05:22 PM i prefer from a stop, but if i get a awd DSM on them, they'll want to take you on the highway. I like highway and stop becuase both ways, you're either going to win or lose, but the thrill of going 110+ mph is fun as hell! emokid15 01-29-2005, 05:28 PM I prefer from a stop and freeway runs. its fun messing around with other cars. once we were in my friends Eclipse Gs-T and a freaking STi kept messing with us then out of no where a 350Z came out and we were messing around hitting 115 and just fun shit. yup that was a cargasm lol. Slowprocess 01-30-2005, 12:39 AM From a dig, on a nice wide street, with money on the line, being flagged by a hot ass chick. drftk1d 01-30-2005, 02:44 AM Highway racing because my torque sucks and, like Tat, my car doesnt pull till 3rd (lets make a 3rd gear club lol). I think going 100+ is a rush like none other. Also my other love is mountain racing. emokid15 01-30-2005, 02:53 AM Yeah speed is my life. i love going 120 + on the empty free-way @ like 2-30 am. it just makes me happy lol. satchmode 01-30-2005, 04:06 AM I don't race that much, but the races usually find me in the form of some retarded person in a stock(except for a coffee can for an exhaust and loud stereo) honda or other slow vehicle revving their engine beside me at a stoplight. usually the driver thinks they're all bad-ass, and i usually let them beat me for a little while, then blast past them. i have raced on the highway, but it doesn't appeal to me very much. a straight line on a desolate city street is the only way to go for me. CBFryman 01-30-2005, 08:49 AM Sadly, i cant race untill I: Change the tires Take the blocks out from the leaf springs and Lower the front (springs or spindles, i dont know which, im just glad is isnt tortion bars) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v201/CBFryman/Picture199.jpg I should stick with off road racing http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v201/CBFryman/Picture200.jpg Incase you are wondering what "Troy Lee" is. from what i can gather he is a motto cross racer (dirt bikes). he has a whole company called troy lee designs and they make helmits and aparel etc. and back in 98-00 Mazda made a TL style truck that had a 2" lift over stock, all terian tires, 4.10's in the rear to get some torque on thoes bigger tires, racing style bucket seats, carbon fiber door panels and around the radio/air conditioner, and vynil flames on the outside. it really does look nice IMO. and if i put smaller wheels/tires on it with 4.10's i will kill my mileage. its v6 5-speed. and since i am so young maybe i shouldnt make my truck look fast... i dont know. first i have to get myself out of the hole i dug. $7050 (monday i pay tax, tag, and tittle) and nothing is wrong with it but a dent in the front bumper and a little bit of light rust on the end of the bed where the talegate presses agianst the bed pain (soon to be sanded, primered, then covered with a paint-in bed liner) But when i race i prefer some turns, 4 lane roads so you can give yourself a bit of an apex'. Jintec 01-30-2005, 10:09 AM im surprised no one has stated my favorite yet... like backroads... nice smooth 1 lane roads with plenty of dips and curves usually between trees, like in the woods... i like this because it gives me more of a rush than a straight line, but this is probably party due to the fact that my first car was a 94 accord 4dr ex auto. so not only was dragging in that slow, it was also boring with no gear shifts... but one of my fondest memories is losing a 00' mustang Gt. through curves... he was right behind me... then about 15-20 curves later we hit a straight away and he was about 25 car lenghts behind, just comming out of the turn... ahhhh sweet satisfaction lol.. Gotta love dragging too though! RedLightning 01-30-2005, 11:54 AM From a dig, on a nice wide street, with money on the line, being flagged by a hot ass chick. some ones been watching too much F&F. TreeFrog 01-30-2005, 12:05 PM i prefer highway racing, because my car is a highway car. i can drop to 3rd and keep it in 3rd until 110mph. on the highway i can keep it at full boost the whole time. don't have to worry about wheel spin etc now light to light, 0-60 , 1/8 mile stuff is more of a challege and i have tons of fun doing it. BUT my car is not the kinda car you launch. its wrong wheel drive and is haunted by; wheel ship, wheel hop, massive torque steer, and turbo lag. fierangero 01-30-2005, 07:57 PM i have no real preference. sadly, most of the races come when im driving my truck, so i (97% of the time) lose. but if im driving the fiero, the freeway is pretty fun, top out at about 115 (not bad for 3 gears), but it pulls all the way to the top. nissanfanatic 01-30-2005, 08:34 PM Highway from 60-the end. Third is my best gear too. I love 100mph+. But from a dig is really fun too. street_racer_00 01-31-2005, 01:22 AM some ones been watching too much F&F. Wrongo, big fat Hector flags them in F&F My favorite kind is naked street racing, where the person racing you is so disgusted and appalled by your lack of clothing, that you pull a huge light on him and they are too far behind to make up the gap, even if they have a faster car... but seriously, I'd have to agree with Jintec...going straight gets boring after awhile, it's nice and exhilirating to hear your tires squealing and begging for mercy at 60+ mph...and it can level the playing field out, as driver skill is much more a factor. drftk1d 01-31-2005, 08:50 PM Highway from 60-the end. Third is my best gear too. I love 100mph+. But from a dig is really fun too. so 3rd gear club is official now :lol2: nissanfanatic 01-31-2005, 09:14 PM Well my car is basically the same as Tats except his is much faster. ITs official. You guys put it in your sig and I'll put it in mine.;) drftk1d 01-31-2005, 09:17 PM as soon as i get pics of my shifter in 3rd it will be done and done. RACER D12 01-31-2005, 09:29 PM ahhh OMIKRON!!! i haven't heard that in a long time, i wonder if any of the newer guys here have any idea what it means? or how about striking them down with the good earth? anyways back to the subject, i perfer freeway runs since thats where i catch most of my races, plus my car really doens't start pullin on cars until 3rd gear anyways. I remember when I first learned the ways of OMIKRON and hitting them with the good earth...good times :sunglasse We need to bring back some of the classic "AFnes" :evillol: I mean what ever happened to owning newbies so bad they contemplated suicide and never came back? Now its just ban, ban, ban. I mean are we really that lazy now? :cwm27: vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
