i no i will get alot of shit from people, why am i doin this and im stupid.
well i was simply given the car from my parients, and i cant trade it in but i still want to have fun, i have a decent job so i can, with a little saving, do most of what i can do...
any way, i want to make my 2000 sl2 saturn a nice sleeper car.
i already have a nice system in it.
i was told to replace the engin with the ion redline
possible super charge it
but mainly im looking for little things i can do for a couple hunderd dollers each ... that each small thing will give me 5 hp here and 5 hp there, thus after a while gettin a nice amount of pony's in a light car going vroom vroom fast past those fucking spicks in there civic's

no.2 going vroom vroom fast past those fucking spicks in there civic's dont appreciate you using the word spick. haters arent welcome here. love what you drive, but dont talk shit about others. or else youll make lots of enemies here and get banned. that is all.

Get rid of the system, just adds weight. Sell it on ebay, take the money you have there, plus money you've saved, and go with basic air flow mods. Intake, exhaust, headers. Then chip it or get software upgrades. Air flow plus software will be your best bet to get some power without breaking the bank. Dont do anything to the body at all (I.E. spoliers, kits, whatever) to keep it stock looking, and go with a subdued exhaust. If you get some serious cash, go with some FI. But thats just what I'd do.

:disappoin Noobs. I happen to drive a Civic. So what are you saying? You have a hard time beating Civics? That is sadly amusing. Not all Civic drivers are "fucking spicks". And if you want to go vroom vroom, go bust out your Hot Wheels and make the sound effects your self. Otherwise don't come in here with this bad attitude towards Civic drivers. There are few out there who are overall good in general, but every group of cars has its own assholes. EX: Mustang Drivers, Vette Drivers, SVT Drivers, Integra Drivers, etc. You get what I'm saying.

As for the whole sleeper thing, I agree with Cassiesman. Just go with the usual bolt ons. I/H/E. Then when you have the money, chip the ECU with some sort of JetChip or software as he had mentioned. You'll atleast be able to beat the "Ricers". But otherwise check with the Saturn forums. Late...

First of all, you're a stupid prejudiced n00b. Second of all, a Saturn is an excellent tuner platform because the engine is well laid-out and the body panels are plastic (lighter = faster). Third of all, your stereo only makes you slower; it might be really cool, but it won't win you any races.

Now, for the upgrades: visit www.spswebpage.com and pick up some Eibach springs, a throttle body setup, an intake, strut tower braces, and an exhaust. Go to www.twistecproducts.com and pick up some dogbone motor mounts and some clutch parts and a flywheel. Go to your local saturn dealership and get the top motor mount. Get some wheels and tires and go play. This is the order of things: intake/exhaust, motor mounts, wheels/tires, suspension, throttle body, engine/transmission.

OR: Go to www.twistecproducts.com and call them up. Have them turbo your current motor or drop the new Ecotec in there. This way will make you faster, but is more expensive.

I speak from experience. My Saturn is fast.

i never knew Saturns were considered tuner cars...the only two saturns i know that are considered "quick" is the New Ion redline and the old SL2 Gold edition with the 150HP Ecotec from the Cavalier Z24...That would be a real bad day(for the other driver)if you raced someone and beat him...If i lost to a Saturn id junk my car and never drive again

ecotec doesnt make a 150HP 2.4L that was used in a Z24. The one your talking about is the LD9 16 valve DOHC 2.4L Engine. Same one ihave. Stock its 150HP and 155lbs of TQ. Ecotec makes a 2.2L engine that is 140HP and a 2.4L engine that is 170HP. The only ecotec engine ever used in cavaliers was the 2.2L. LD9 > Ecotec :)
