Z31 N/A to Z31 T transform with NA motor?lorddarkice 01-28-2005, 12:37 PM if i pulled the injectors, pistons, rods, intake (whole thing, injectors ect.), exhaust mani, turbo, ECU, wastgate, BOV... and bla bla bla. and bolted them to a NA motor would it basicly work? i realize the cams are different and there is some basic wireing i am missing (Boost level so forth) BUT would this work? why? because i want to keep my VG30E in my maxima so that i know everything will work!! (mounts, sensors so forth). found lots of pages on swaping a VG30ET into it... but... anyway, the question is not about the max. its about swaping internals on a Z31 na to a Z31 T. so thats why it is in the Z form. thanks for help. DeleriousZ 01-28-2005, 02:12 PM theoretically it should work... but that's a lot of work for an extra 40 hp and 20 ft lbs... if you even make it up to the stock specs of the vg30et through swapping everything... why don't you save your money and get some forged internals and a larger turbo and such... then you'd really be flying. if it were me.. i'd wait and get the good stuff MikeMan 01-28-2005, 03:59 PM If you wanted to save a bit of money, you can throw just the turbo exhaust manifold, turbo and all relevant pipes. Throw in the z31T ecu and you'd be laughing. Remember not to run more than around 8psi though because its high compression pistons. Unless you want to make this thing a monster, a high compression engine running 8psi or so is going to be a cheaper and (subjectively) better alternative. a high compression 8psi engine is going to have a much flatter torque curve than a low compression 12psi version, which is going to result in less peak horsepower, but far more usable torque. The only problem is thats the end of the line on pump gas. If you wanted more power, then you'd have to get yourself the lower compression pistons etc. -Mike lorddarkice 01-28-2005, 11:21 PM i had thought of using the Turbo and piping on the Max motor and the T ECU. but... i have to also buy an AFC of some kind and it just woldn't be as reliable. so..... i have almost made up my mind 100% to just swap the whole VG30ET motor in it, as it will turns out to be not much more $$ (prices local 300-500 whole thing, turbo inc.). less headache and a LOT more power possable later on. just needs a few parts for a basic rebuild. DeleriousZ 01-28-2005, 11:36 PM i can get one for 139 :D... then again.. i'm not sure if it runs or anything.... lol Nissan-Fan 01-29-2005, 03:40 AM Where can i read up on this swap? DeleriousZ 01-29-2005, 03:58 AM what sort of swap are you looking to read up on? vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
