Hypertech or Diablo will work.

For the BEST in Ford tuning, see the folks at SCT. They alone can change ANY EEC parameter you wish, and do it properly.

Silverstang is right. A chip or custom tune of any sort is a total waste on a stock car. You would get more from your money going with gears or some sort of intake or exhaust mod. Save the chips and custom tune when all your mods are done.

Well on a stock car I call it a waste here's why.
You have three options the way I see it. You can go with an off the shelf chip like hypertech or Jet. You can get a dyno tune and get a custom burned chip that will carry a custom program specific to your car or you can get an EEC Tuner.
Off the shelf chips are the cheap way out and because of that your not getting the most for your money, its a generic program good for any vehicle and all they really do is advance the timming which you can do yourself. In automatics they delay shift points, big deal.
Then there are custom burned chips which is the best way to go for a chip. Why because your car is put on a dyno and given a program based on YOUR cars performance on the dyno. The chip will have a program on it specificly designed for the parts on your vehicle so you will get far more performance for your dollar over an off the shelf chip. The only problem here is if you get a custom burned chip for a stock car everytime you do an upgrade to the vehicle this chip will have to be reburned in order to get anything out of the upgrade. This can get way expensive if your starting out with a stock vehicle and you've got plans on more upgrades in the future. Which was my point from the get go.

Has anyone noticed all the related links are for/about potato chips? haha. On a stock motor one of those little tuner thingies will probably muster up about 3-5hp. Is it $30-50? If so, then go ahead and buy it.

SCT REGULARLY sells custom, made to order chips for $400, and you can EXPECT a 40 RWHP, yes WHEEL HP gain on an '05 4.6L 3V.
Figure it out, $10/HP.
BTW, SCT tunes, everyone else toons. Like it or not, it is the truth.
Ask ANY other "tooner" what they offer for a 3V, and what dyno-proven gains and transmission (A/T) functional improvements they make. All you will hear is either BS marketing hype, or crickets.

Since I do not own one, I cannot "prove" anything.
However, reported STOCK numbers for the '05 GTs are 255 WHP, and SCT tuned ones range from 280WHP (early software) to nearly 295 WHP for the later software versions.
The information is out there, if you need the proof, go get it.

You know, that is all nice and everything for all of us out there that own a 2005 3V Gt, but, if you took the time to look, this guy is driving a stock 6 cylinder.... not the proclaimed "most productive NA mustang motor yet" this guy will NEVER get $10/hp out of his car with a computer upgrade. He needs to just buy an older SN95 GT, with a 5.0L.... no replacement for displacement.....
