My friend has an H22a in his Civic, and he wants to get a new IM. He's looking for something that flows a little better and doesn't have the secondary butterfly. So I was looking at the H22 Euro R IM over at hmotors, and it doesn't look like it has the butterfly thingy on there:

But I'm thinking maybe it just doesn't come with the butterfly (like you'd have to use the one from the existing motor with it). Does anyone know about this at all? Or if this will flow better than the JDM H22a one? I've read about some clearance issues with the firewall (because it's in a '92-'95 Civic), but that's not a big deal. I'm just curious if I should look somewhere else, like an aftermarket one. As usual, any help is greatly appreciated.

The Euro-R Manifold is Single Butterfly w/shorter intake runners. I've done plenty of research on h22 intake manifolds and the best one so far is made by a shop about an hour north of my city, called Blacktrax. You give them your core and they have multiple stages of work to choose from (including single butterfly conversion) The price ranges from 250 to 350, depending on what you want done to the manifold (also provided that you give them a core)

Here's their website
www.blacktrax.net

and.. http://www.blacktrax.net/btp_H22_IM.html (direct link to manifold product page)

Hope this helps.

Working on one right now. 93 hb with a h22a swap and am putting on the euro spec maniolfd. No butterflys, more high end power, i think. There is quite a bit of modifications that need to be done to the manifold to make it work though.

He's right. The Euro-R manifold does not simply bolt on and work. There are minor modifications that need to be done to put it onto an h22. Contact InlineFour, they have info on what you need to do to put it on.
