215/50/17 on a civic?

i have 205/40/17 right now and its time for new tires, i want somthin a little bigger so... i was thinkin about 215/50/17. it should work i just wanna make sure if anyone had them they didnt have any problems with that size.. thanks

205/45 should be okay, but i dont think 215s fit the civic with out fender trouble. you might even put 205/50 as long as your not dropped there should be no problem.

Yo! i have a same car,the only difference is that mine is black. I currently have 195/60/R14........but I want to get mnyself something bigger! As I see u had 205/40/R17......how was it on ur civic???? did u have any problems with them?
p.s: what about turns,u turns,bumps and stuff like that?????

do you want wider or taller cause both mean bigger. 205 is width and 40 is sidewall for a smother ride a 45 50 seires would help absorb some of the bumps but a 215 would help in cornering unless it rubbing the fender and it will if the car is lowered

If you have a Civic 215/50x17" will not fit and your speedo and odometer will be off too.

The right size is 205/40x17". If you want something bigger due to the ride quality I would downsize to 16x7" with 205/45x16".
