94 Jimmy transmission "CTF"

We need to replace the tranny in my sons jimmy. what does CTF mean? The junk yard asks "with or without CTF". Our GMC dealership couldn't answer that, nor could several mechanics. Controlled Traction Function??? Help, please!!

I don't think its the employee at the junkyard. Every parts site I went to asked the same question.

"Computerized Transmission Function" or "Computer-Control Transmission Function". In '94 you could still get the 4L60(700R4) without it being electronically controlled. All the 'w' vortec engine had the 4L60E, meaning CTF, the 'Z' engines may or may not had the the electronically controlled transmission.
