sr20det drop in 88 sentraspeedracer018 01-26-2005, 01:15 AM hi my name is tom and im about to have a 1988 nissan sentra sometime this week and i plan on dropping in a jdm sr20det (fwd) does anyone know how hard this swap will be? the motor im going to get includes all of the electronics and turbo components and will be ready to directly bolt in. do i need new gauges? will it bolt in or do i need custom motor mounts? i am going to completly gut the car and put in a set of racing seats. any good info will help! thanks,tom SR20B12 01-26-2005, 11:09 PM well I hope you have a welder,and a wiring buff with you look here www.nissanperformancemag.com click on b12 turbo.. note this is no bolt up matter , there are a hand full in the world that have done so and did it right. pnoiSR20 02-01-2005, 02:53 PM Hi...i own a 89 Sentra. If i do go with the SR20 swap....it cant pass smog in CA right? I also heard that the SR motor are in SE-R models. Is it better to get one of those and turbo it or just get the JDM version instead? The SR swap will pass cali tree hugger patrol if youuse the JWT turbo kit . this is the only hugger friendly kit I know of. the JDM will might not pass because of the no EGR .my 2cents say no. if you go with the SE-R swap Like I have you will pass as long as you keep the smog stuff on. hope this helps P.S.
