fuel settings on turbo preludebambam2000 01-25-2005, 11:17 PM i'm about to finish up on installing the charge pipes on my lude I have a fmu, aem fuel rail, and a afc vtec field boxer controling my fuel delivery I was wondering if any one can give me an idea on how much fuel I should dump into the motor 1% to 30% more i'm going to be boosting about 8psi and also is it true what a mechanic said about not boosting for a couple of days so the engine can get use to something I dont remember waht he said i'm guessing the "turbo"? Prelude707 01-26-2005, 09:01 AM No one is really sure how much extra fuel you'll be needed. The only way to find that out is to dynotune it. I would never turbo my lude without a good EMS, like Hondata, Haltech, or AEM EMS. And I strongly suggest that you dynotune it. Your AFC and FMU can't adjust timing in case of detenation. Do you have a built engine? If not I wouldn't push running 8 psi do to the prelude's weak cylinder walls. Also what you're mechanic told is is false. There is no break-in time for a turbo. civickiller 01-26-2005, 08:26 PM not only does hte prelude have weak cylinder walls, it has weak ringlands that break really easy under detonation. you might want to run less than 8psi, maybe like 6psi till you get something that can retard timing. we cant tell you fuel settings, you need to dyno it like the other dude said, then you can get a good solid afr. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
