Performance chips

I have a 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 Sport pickup with the 5.2 L engine. I am interested in getting a performance chip for a little more horsepower. Has anyone tried this one, or is it a hoax. Or can anyone recommend a good performance chip package.

I have a 2001 5.2 and put a jet performance module stage 1 on. It made a little bit of difference but not a huge one. I am happy with it but expected more.

Ive got the mopar PCM in my Ram. Added about 20-25 hp. The more mods you have the better results will be.

to fully benefit from a chip you need to upgrade air intake and exhaust. the chip pretty much increases the spark for a hotter and cleaner burn.

the mopar pcm also increases the rev limiter and top speed.

I would make sure i get the right chip for my truck I have a 2001 dodge ram 1500 V8 magnum 5.9 liter. i have flow master duel exhaust brush guard american racing wheels 18" and 32" nitro tires. i have a 3" lift from the body and cheater bars on the side. I also have a rugged bed liner. Under the hood i have an AEM cool air intake and a Gorrilachipz mod chip from jegs in columbus ohio. the chip makes your engine really start putting out i suggest you disconnect your battery first because it has been known to turn on the check engine light during or after installation. you'll find your ait easily accessible and im sure youll enjoy this sweet litte mod
