Fuel pump reset switchholeinmysox 01-24-2005, 01:57 PM It appears the fuel pump has died on my '99 5.3 Silverado. It justs cranks over and I hear nothing from the fuel pump when I turn the key. There is also no fuel at the fuel rail. I swapped out the relay and that's not it apparently. My friend was talking to some co-workers and they told him there is a reset for the fuel pump. Is that true and if so where the heck would it be located? planedude 01-24-2005, 02:25 PM no such luck. I'd say a bum pump is your prob. If you know how to read the diagram on the side of the relay you can jump the main power to the pump wire when the relay is out this will take the computer and relay out of the system. enginetune 01-26-2005, 02:42 AM Resets are on Fords. Inertia switch for collisions is the idea. At the fuel pump relay, the gray wire sends power to the pump. Same color at the connector near the tank unit also but sometimes hard to get at. Test first before you buy. and be careful of sparks. Use a meter to test resistance and work your way to the pump. Jeremy-WI 01-26-2005, 07:17 AM On your truck there may be a fuel pump prime connector in the underhood fuse box, you should just have to jumper 12v to this connector to get the fuel pump to run(if the pump and wiring is good). The stud or connector should be listed on the label for the underhood fuse box as fuel pump prime or fuel pump test vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
