:confused:
I t just started;

98 Accord LX, 2.3 4 cil, 42K

all of a sudded "Maintenance" light came ON.
I tried to reset it, but it would not go away.
Car is well taken care of, everything on schedule, and you can see it has not been driven alot.

Light came on about 8 miles after I filled up full tank of gas, used same gas station I always use.
That is the only thing that happened to the car.

One more thing, I was told it is time to change my battery, but it starts OK, so I have not change it yet.

After light came on, the only thing I've noticed, is slightly higher RPMs while driving and it takes little bit longer till it changes gears (car is auto transm.)

Can it be bad gas??
Can bad battery trigger that light?
Anything else?
What should I do?

The maintanance light is exactly that. A reminder that the car needs maintanance. It comes on solid every 7500 miles from the point it was reset. So if there was 30,000 when it was reset it will be on at 3750. It has nothing to do with gas, sensors or anything.

To reset it. Hold the reset button in on the gauge cluster. Turn the key on so all the lights lite up. Keep the reset button pushed in the whole time. Once the ign. is turned on the maint. lite will flash. once it's out completely turn the key off and release the button. Turn the car on and you should be ok
